Dandelion Wine

July 15 – August 19, 2023

Central Server Works Downtown Los Angeles

Dandelion Wine brings together a significant group of artists and friends who have greatly influenced the founders of the gallery during its first year of operation. As the gallery expands into a larger space for its second year, this show serves as a reflection of our accomplishments, encounters, and aspirations as a gallery rooted in artist support.

The show derives its title from a composition by Jean-Jacques Perrey and Billy Goldenberg. Perrey, a notable French electronic music performer, released some of the earliest commercially available recordings featuring the Moog synthesizer. Moreover, Perrey was among the pioneers in promoting, performing, and recording with the Ondioline, an instrument that prominently features in Dandelion Wine.

The song itself serves as a theme for a theatrical adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s novel, “a series of loosely connected short stories centered around summer experiences.” We perceive this group show as a summer occurrence, marking the initial phase of our gallery’s new chapter. Perrey’s music holds a special place in our family, frequently played in our original home gallery. As we transition to a new space, we desired to bring a small part of our home gallery with us.
